About Illustrator, Cat Charm
One of THE most important components of a successful children’s book is good illustrations. So when The Happiest Therapist set out to find an illustrator, he wanted someone that could not only do great illustrations but someone who would “get” him and the project; someone who would be at least (if not more so) passionate about the book as he was. After looking over the profiles of 92 illustrators, the work of Cat Charm stood out head and shoulders above the rest. As you can see, her sense of color AMAZING but possibly even more important is her ability to capture the feelings of the characters not only in their facial expression but also in their body language. Cat was very friendly, intuitive and professional. She was also the genius that came up with the idea to do the text in different colors, each assigned to a different character. This took away from the clunkiness telling the reader at each iteration who was speaking. I can’t sing her praises loudly enough. It was a blessing and privilege to work with her.
